Regular Season Round 11: Heidelberg - Halle 74-69

There was a minor upset when 9th ranked SV Halle Lions (3-8) were defeated on the road by twelfth ranked BasCats Heidelberg (2-9) 74-69 on Saturday. SV Halle Lions were trailing by 5 points at halftime but managed to get 9-point lead after three quarters before a 24-10 charge of BasCats Heidelberg, which allowed them to win the game. They also forced 21 SV Halle Lions turnovers and had a 15-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. Americans were the main players on the court. It was a great evening for forward Tiffany Jones (190-91, college: Seton Hall) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 12 rebounds. Vee Young (186-89, college: Martin Methodist) helped adding 17 points and 6 rebounds. Young is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four BasCats Heidelberg players scored in double figures. Guard Brittany Hrynko (173-93, college: De Paul, agency: LBM Management) responded with 25 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and forward Milan Quinn (185-95, college: Wake Forest) scored 16 points and 9 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. BasCats Heidelberg moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Goettingen. SV Halle Lions lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the tenth position with eight games lost. BasCats Heidelberg will face Goettingen (#11) at home in the next round.
