Regular Season Round 9: Istanbul BBSK - Darussafaka 75-72

A very interesting game took place in Istanbul. It ended with only three-point defeat on the road of higher ranked Darussafaka (5-4) to eleventh ranked Istanbul BBSK (4-5) 75-72 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Darussafaka. The best player for the winners was Croatian power forward Ivan Buva (208-91) who scored 22 points and 5 rebounds. Slovenian Jaka Klobucar (198-87) chipped in 14 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Stanton Kidd (202-92, college: Colorado St.) who recorded 17 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and the other American import point guard Will Cummings (188-92, college: Temple) added 13 points and 4 assists respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Darussafaka's coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Istanbul BBSK moved-up to eighth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Darussafaka at the other side dropped to the sixth position with four games lost. Istanbul BBSK's next round opponent will be Banvit (#10) in Balikesir.
