Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both eighth ranked Bursa BSB and 9th ranked Edirne had identical 6-4 record. But Edirne was not able to use a home court advantage and was smashed by the opponent from Bursa 92-65 on Saturday night. Bursa BSB forced 19 Edirne turnovers and outrebounded them 35-24 including 24 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. American center Monique Oliver (188-91, college: Rutgers) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 15 rebounds. Forward Dilek Dedeoglu (183-83, agency: LBM Management) contributed with 25 points (on 11-of-13 shooting from the field) for the winners. Four Bursa BSB players scored in double figures. American center Molly Schlemer (196-92, college: Cal Poly - SLO) answered with 19 points and 5 rebounds and point guard Yagmur Bul (164-96) added 11 points and 8 assists in the effort for Edirne. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Bursa BSB (7-4) moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Edirne keeps the ninth position with five games lost. Bursa BSB will face Fenerbahce G. (#15) in Istanbul in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Edirne will play on the road against Cankaya (#3) in Ankara and hope to win that game.
