Not a big story in a game when 10th ranked Don Bosco Bamberg (3-7) was defeated at home by seventh ranked Rhein Main Baskets (5-5) 67-50 on Saturday. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. The best player for the winners was point guard Pia Dietrich (168-94) who scored 22 points and 6 rebounds. The former international point guard Nelli Dietrich (169-89) chipped in 13 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. American guard Jamiyah Bethune (173, college: Monmouth) produced 10 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import power forward Tori Waldner (196-93, college: Penn St.) added 8 points and 12 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Don Bosco Bamberg's coach rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. Rhein Main Baskets have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to fifth place in South, which they share with Krofdorf/Gleib. and Keltern II. Loser Don Bosco Bamberg dropped to the ninth position with seven games lost. Rhein Main Baskets will face Krofdorf/Gleib. (#5) in Giessen in the next round. Don Bosco Bamberg will play at home against Weiterstadt (#3) and hope to win that game.
