Regular Season Round 10: Zarkovo BG - Proleter Naftagas 83-74

Very important is a road loss of third ranked Proleter Naftagas (7-3) against tenth ranked Zarkovo BG (5-5) on Saturday night. Visiting Proleter Naftagas were defeated by Zarkovo BG in a tough game in Beograd 74-83. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Proleter Naftagas. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 22-6. But Proleter Naftagas won third quarter 24-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Zarkovo BG dominated on the defensive end, holding Proleter Naftagas to just 6 points in first quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Proleter Naftagas' 32. They outrebounded Proleter Naftagas 38-19 including a 30-12 advantage in defensive rebounds. Zarkovo BG players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. Swingman Luka Gasic (195-98) notched 24 points and 6 rebounds to lead the effort and forward Milan Janjusevic (195-83, agency: BeoExcell) supported him with 14 points and 7 rebounds. Even 19 points by guard Djordje Bozovic (188) did not help to save the game for Proleter Naftagas. Guard Slobodan Lalic (195-86, agency: BeoBasket) added 13 points and 5 rebounds for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Zarkovo BG moved-up to seventh place, which they share with 3 other teams. Proleter Naftagas at the other side keep the third position with three games lost. Zarkovo BG will play against higher ranked Napredak (#5) in Aleksinac in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Proleter Naftagas will play at home against Kolubara and hope to get back on the winning track.
