Regular Season Round 12: Vechta II - ALBA Berlin II 106-59

Very expected game when 12th ranked ALBA-2 (3-7) was crushed on the road by seventh ranked Vechta-2 (6-4) 106-59 on Saturday. The game without a history. Vechta-2 led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to ALBA-2's 40. Vechta-2 forced 29 ALBA-2 turnovers and had a 28-15 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by ALBA-2's players. Worth to mention a great performance of American swingman Robert Crawford (201-90, college: Cent.Arkansas) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 25 points, 11 rebounds and 9 assists and Tim Insinger (205-97) who added 20 points (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) during the contest. Five Vechta-2 players scored in double figures. Coach Hanno Stein's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play all 12 players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. The best for the losing side was Lorenz Brenneke (204-0) with 12 points and 5 rebounds and Max Stoelzel (198-0) scored 9 points and 5 rebounds. Vechta-2 moved-up to fourth place in North, which they share with Goetting.ASC and Rendsburg. Loser ALBA-2 dropped to the tenth position with seven games lost. Vechta-2 will face Weser Bsk/BTS (#12) in Neustadt in the next round and are hoping to win another game. ALBA-2 will play at home against WSG Koenigs and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
