Regular Season Round 12: Speyer - Tuebingen II 105-72

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Speyer as it allowed them to take a leadership position in South-West. Speyer smashed 3rd ranked Tuebingen II at home 105-72. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Tuebingen II. The game without a history. Speyer led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Tuebingen II's 38 and made 20-of-22 free shots (90.9 percent) during the game. Speyer looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Spanish center Eduard Arques (202-94) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 9 rebounds and American guard Jordan Rezendes (188, college: Mass.-Dartmouth) who added 23 points during the contest. Five Speyer players scored in double figures. Speyer's coach Carl Mbassa felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was Jacob Mampuya (200-94) with 28 points and 4 assists and forward Felix Sieghoertner (192-95) scored 15 points and 7 rebounds. Speyer (10-1) have an impressive eight-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Schwenningen. Tuebingen II at the other side dropped to the fourth place with three games lost. They share the position with Saarlouis/Dillingen. Tuebingen II will play next round against Kaiserslautern trying to get back on the winning streak. Speyer will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game.
