The most surprising game was the first loss of Fenerbahce (7-1) in Adana on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by ninth ranked Botas (4-4) 78-69. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Fenerbahce. Botas dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Fenerbahce's 26. American guard Chelsea Gray (180-92, college: Duke) orchestrated the victory by scoring 22 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Swedish guard Frida Eldebrink (174-88, agency: ProDep Management) contributed with 12 points and 6 assists for the winners. Belarusian center Anastasiya Veremeenko (194-87) replied with 16 points and 8 rebounds and Czech-American power forward Kia Vaughn (193-87, college: Rutgers) added 10 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Fenerbahce. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Botas moved-up to sixth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Fenerbahce at the other side still keeps top position with one game lost. They share it with Hatay and Yakin Dogu. Botas is looking forward to face Ormanspor (#12) in Ankara in the next round where they are favorite. Fenerbahce will play at home against Cukurova (#6) and is hoping to win this game.
