Regular Season Round 8: Cluj Napoca - Olimpia Brasov 70-80

Another interesting game for Olimpia Brasov (4-4) which played on the court of one of their biggest challengers Cluj Napoca (3-4). Seventh ranked Olimpia Brasov had an easy win 80-70. American players dominated the game. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Aliyyah Handford (175-94, college: St.John's) who helped to win the game recording 23 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and center Kristina Higgins (196-94, college: Baylor) who added 15 points and 16 rebounds during the contest. Point guard Leslie Vorpahl (168-95, college: Tulane) responded with 19 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists and forward Amanda Thompson (178-87, college: Oklahoma) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds. Four Olimpia Brasov and five Cluj Napoca players scored in double figures. Olimpia Brasov moved-up to fifth place. Cluj Napoca at the other side dropped to the sixth position with four games lost. Olimpia Brasov will play against higher ranked Timisoara (#4) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Cluj Napoca will play against the league's leader Sf.Gheorghe in Sfantu Gheorghe and hopes to get back on the winning track.
