Regular Season Round 9: Besiktas - Anadolu Efes 67-64

The most exciting game of round 9 in the BSL took place in Istanbul. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of second-best Anadolu Efes (6-3) to third ranked Besiktas (7-2) 67-64 on Sunday evening. It was a key game for the second position in the league. It was a good game for American-Cameroonian DJ Strawberry (196-85, college: Maryland) who led his team to a victory with 14 points. American forward Kyle Weems (198-89, college: Missouri St.) contributed with 12 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Four Besiktas players scored in double figures. Serbian center Vladimir Stimac (210-87, agency: Interperformances) answered with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 16 rebounds and American point guard Errick McCollum (185-88, college: Goshen) added 21 points and 4 assists in the effort for Anadolu Efes. Besiktas have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Fenerbahce. Anadolu Efes at the other side dropped to the fourth position with three games lost. They share it with Eskisehir Basket. Besiktas is looking forward to face Gaziantep (#14) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Anadolu Efes will play against Sakarya BSB (#7) and is hoping to win this game.
