A very interesting game took place in Samsun. It ended with only two-point home defeat of 9th ranked Canik Belediye (3-5) to fifth ranked Abdullah Gul (5-3) 67-65 on Sunday evening. Abdullah Gul made 16-of-20 charity shots (80.0 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was Australian center Marianna Tolo (196-89, agency: ProDep Management) who had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 19 rebounds. American-Serbian forward Danielle Page (188-86, college: Nebraska) chipped in 14 points and 6 rebounds. Montenegrin-American swingman Eshaya Murphy (181-85, college: USC) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds and the former international point guard Gizem Yavuz (170-88) added 10 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for the hosts. Four Canik Belediye players scored in double figures. Abdullah Gul moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Galatasaray. Canik Belediye at the other side dropped to the tenth position with five games lost. Abdullah Gul's next round opponent will be Adana ASKI (#11) in Mersin and are hoping to win another game. Canik Belediye will play on the road against Galatasaray in Istanbul and hope to win that game.
