Regular Season Round 9: Chernomorets - UE Varna 55-83

Very expected game in Burgas where 5th ranked Chernomorets (2-5) was crushed by leader UE Varna (7-0) 83-55 on Sunday. UE Varna dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Chernomorets' 32. They outrebounded Chernomorets 53-37 including 40 on the defensive glass. UE Varna looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists. Swingman Martin Kotsev (195-98) stepped up and scored 14 points and 6 assists for the winners and guard Ivaylo Todorov (187-92) chipped in 12 points and 4 assists. The best for the losing side was swingman Stoyan Milchev (185-95) with 19 points and 8 rebounds and swingman Delyan Kolev (190-99) scored 5 points and 12 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. UE Varna maintains first place in A with 7-0 record. Loser Chernomorets keeps the fifth position with five games lost. UE Varna will face league's second-placed Chavdar in Troyan in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Chernomorets will play on the road against Shumen and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
