Regular Season Round 8: SumDU - Mariupol 68-81

The most shocking disappointment of round 8 in the Higher League was a home defeat of 3rd ranked SumDU (4-4) to fourth ranked Mariupol (5-3) 81-68. It was a key game for the second position in the league. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Kirilo Zuev (196-93) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points and 22 rebounds and guard Vladyslav Ryzhov (190-94) who added 31 points and 5 assists during the contest. Four Mariupol players scored in double figures. Vitaliy Ignatchenko (188-91) responded with 19 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Igor Starodub (187-97) scored 18 points and 4 assists. Mariupol moved-up to second place, which they share with Zolotoi Vek. SumDU at the other side dropped to the fourth position with four games lost. They share it with Dnipro-2 and Kyiv Basket. Mariupol is looking forward to face Kremen-2 (#7) in Kremenchuk in the next round where they are favorite. SumDU will play at home against Ch.Mavpy 2 and is hoping to win this game.
