Regular Season Round 8: Benfica B - Belenenses CF 87-57

Another interesting game was again a derby between two teams from Lisbona: Benfica B (#5) and Belenenses CF (#2). Benfica B (4-4) smashed visiting Belenenses CF (5-3) by 30 points 87-57. The game without a history. Benfica B led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Benfica B outrebounded Belenenses CF 43-30 including a 36-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. Guard Rafael Santos (175-99) orchestrated the victory by scoring 15 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists. Power forward Goncalo Delgado (204-98) contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Five Benfica B players scored in double figures. Guard Tiago Brito (180-85) replied with 17 points and 4 steals and guard Dinis-Carlos Rodrigues (-98) added 10 points in the effort for Belenenses CF. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Benfica B moved-up to fourth place in South, which they share with Academica. Belenenses CF lost third consecutive game. They keep the second position with three games lost. Benfica B's next round opponent will be league's leader Imortal in Albufeira and it may be the game of the week. Belenenses CF will play at home against Moscavide and hope to win that game.
