Bottom-ranked Politehnica Iasi is still unable to win any game. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their eighth consecutive match to tenth ranked Timba Timosoara (2-5) 87-86 on Saturday evening. The guests trailed by 6 points at the halftime before their 48-41 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. The winners were led by American center John Florveus (211-90, college: Georgia, agency: Slash Sports) who scored that evening 25 points and 8 rebounds and Serbian guard Dejan Kovacevic (195-89) supported him with 18 points and 8 rebounds. Four Timba Timosoara players scored in double figures. Even 24 points by American-Nigerian guard Mike Balogun (188-91, college: Arkansas Tech) did not help to save the game for Politehnica Iasi. American swingman Jalen Jackson (198-94, college: UALR) added 9 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists for the hosts. Newly promoted Timba Timosoara maintains tenth position with 2-5 record. Politehnica Iasi at the other side, also newcomer in the league, still closes the standings with eight games lost. They share the position with Dinamo B.. Timba Timosoara will meet at home higher ranked Steaua CSM (#6) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Politehnica Iasi will have a break next round.
