Regular Season Round 13: Rist Wedel - Art.Dragons 54-70

No shocking result in a game when second ranked Artland Dragons (9-4) beat on the road 10th ranked SC Rist Wedel (4-9) 70-54 on Saturday. Artland Dragons dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to SC Rist Wedel's 30. They outrebounded SC Rist Wedel 31-19 including a 22-11 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a very good performance for American guard Pierre Bland (188-92, college: IPFW) who helped to win the game recording 14 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Center Leon Bahner (209-95, college: San Jose St.) contributed with 12 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Four Artland Dragons players scored in double figures. Marius Behr (201-97) answered with 14 points and guard Mario Blessing (188-92, college: USC Upstate) added 12 points in the effort for SC Rist Wedel. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Artland Dragons have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain second place in North with 9-4 record having just three points less than leader Elchingen. SC Rist Wedel lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the tenth position with nine games lost. Artland Dragons will face RSV Eintracht (#12) in Stahnsdorf in the next round and are hoping to win another game. SC Rist Wedel will play on the road against ETB Wohnbau in Essen and hope to win that game.
