Regular Season Round 13: ETB Wohnbau - Oldenburg 71-100

There was a surprise result when eighth ranked Oldenburg (6-7) rolled over 4th placed ETB Wohnbau (7-6) in Essen 100-71 on Saturday. Oldenburg made 20-of-26 free shots (76.9 percent) during the game. Oldenburg outrebounded ETB Wohnbau 42-29 including 30 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. It was a very good performance for point guard Haris Hujic (193-97) who helped to win the game recording 29 points. Kevin Wohlrath (197-95) contributed with 15 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Five Oldenburg players scored in double figures. American guard Montrael Scott (190-93, college: Prairie View A&M) answered with 20 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and Canadian Nick Tufegdzich (203-92) added 14 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for ETB Wohnbau. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Oldenburg maintains eighth place in North with 6-7 record, which they share with Itzehoe. Loser ETB Wohnbau dropped to the fifth position with six games lost. Oldenburg will face higher ranked SSV Lok Bernau (#3) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. ETB Wohnbau will play against SC Rist Wedel and hope to win that game and get promotion back to the ProA just one year after relegation.
