No shocking result in a game in Breitenguessbach where fifth ranked TSV Troester (9-3) smashed 10th ranked Schwabing (4-8) 87-63 on Saturday. TSV Troester dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Schwabing's 28 and made 27-of-33 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game, while Schwabing only scored eleven points from the stripe. TSV Troester forced 19 Schwabing turnovers and outrebounded them 38-24 including a 31-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Schwabing was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Center Erik Land (205-90) fired 22 points and 4 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Power forward Lucas Wagner (200-94) chipped in 11 points and 6 rebounds. Four TSV Troester players scored in double figures. American swingman Nathan Gibbs (203-89, college: Westmont) produced 16 points and Isaiah Ihnen (202) added 11 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. TSV Troester maintains fifth place in South-East with 9-3 record. Schwabing lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the ninth position with eight games lost. TSV Troester will face Ansbach (#7) on the road in the next round. Schwabing will play against Muenchen OSB and hope to win that game.
