Not a big story in a game when 15th ranked Samsun (4-9) was defeated at home by second ranked Afyon Bld (11-2) 83-70 on Saturday. American forward Jamelle Hagins (206-90, college: Delaware) fired 15 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Forward Hadi Ozdemir (203-83) chipped in 12 points and 6 assists. Five Afyon Bld players scored in double figures. Afyon Bld's coach Can Sevim used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. American forward Mikael Hopkins (206-93, college: Georgetown) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points and 14 rebounds and Cihan Amasyali (191-83) added 15 points and 4 assists respectively for lost side. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Afyon Bld. They maintain second place with 11-2 record having just two points less than leader Turk Telekom. Samsun lost their third game in a row. They keep the fifteenth position with nine games lost. Afyon Bld will meet at home Duzce Belediye (#8) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Samsun will play against Bakirkoy (#13) in Istanbul and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
