A very close game took place in Istanbul between Mersin Uni and Istanbulgucu. Eleventh ranked Mersin Uni (6-6) got a very close victory on the road over 13th ranked Istanbulgucu (3-7). At the other side the best for losing team was American center Rachel Mitchell (201-92, college: Texas A&M) who recorded a double-double by scoring 18 points and 21 rebounds and Sevda Tuncluer (-88) added 6 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists respectively. Mersin Uni moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Edirne. Loser Istanbulgucu keeps the thirteenth position with seven games lost. Mersin Uni will meet at home Bayrakli (#12) in the next round. Istanbulgucu will play against the league's leader Bodrum where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
