Regular Season Round 8: Kakanj - Zrinjski HT 72-71

There was a change at the Division I leadership position after last games. Round 8 most important game was a defeat of league's leader Zrinjski HT (6-1). They were edged by second ranked Kakanj (6-1) 72-71 on Saturday night. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Zrinjski HT. It was a key game for the top position in the league. They outrebounded Zrinjski HT 39-28 including a 16-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. 25 personal fouls committed by Zrinjski HT helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of Serbian swingman Adam Mirkovic (199-91) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds and international Darko Talic (198-98) who added 16 points during the contest. Kakanj's coach Josip Pandza used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Croatian forward Marko Ramljak (201-93) responded with 11 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists and Croatian forward Ivan Milicevic (204-95) scored 15 points and 4 blocks. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Kakanj have an impressive five-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Zrinjski HT and Spars Sarajevo. Zrinjski HT will play next round against Bosnjak trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Kakanj will try to continue on its current victory against second ranked Spars Sarajevo on the road.
