Regular Season Round 8: CSU Sibiu - Craiova 108-90

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both sixth ranked CSU Sibiu and 7th ranked Craiova had identical 4-3 record. This time CSU Sibiu used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Craiova 108-90 on Saturday night. The game was mostly controlled by CSU Sibiu. Craiova was better in second period 22-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. CSU Sibiu looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American Monyea Pratt (196-85, college: Stillman, agency: Court Side) orchestrated the victory by scoring 23 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. The other American import point guard Tyler Laser (185-88, college: E.Illinois) contributed with 20 points and 4 assists for the winners. Montenegrin point guard Goran Martinic (187-87) replied with 23 points and Croatian swingman Ivan Siriscevic (198-87, agency: PEPI SPORT) added 20 points in the effort for Craiova. Five CSU Sibiu and four Craiova players scored in double figures. Craiova's coach Rami Hadar rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. CSU Sibiu (5-3) moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Steaua CSM. Loser Craiova dropped to the eighth position with four games lost. CSU Sibiu will face Targu Mures (#9) at home in the next round. Craiova will play against UBT Cluj Napoca and hope to win that game.
