Regular Season Round 9: Ginasio - Angra 92-83

There was no surprise in Figueira da Foz where 7th ranked Angrabasket (2-7) was defeated by third ranked Ginasio (6-3) 92-83 on Sunday. The best player for the winners was the former international center Marco Goncalves (206-84) who had a double-double by scoring 37 points (!!!) and 14 rebounds. The former international guard Jose Costa (187-73) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points, 5 rebounds and 11 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American point guard Darius Jones-Gibson (185-94, college: Samford) who recorded 28 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists and power forward Andre Amado (200-99) added 16 points and 9 rebounds respectively. Five Ginasio and four Angrabasket players scored in double figures. The victory was the third consecutive win for Ginasio. They moved-up to second place in South, which they share with Belenenses CF. Angrabasket lost their third game in a row. They keep the seventh position with seven games lost. Ginasio will face Estoril Basket (#6) on the road in the next round. Angrabasket will play against the league's second-placed Belenenses CF and hope to win that game.
