The game in Kharkiv was also worth to mention about. Fifth ranked Mykolaiv (7-6) played at the court of 7th ranked Politekhnik (2-11). Mykolaiv managed to secure a 6-point victory 74-68. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 19-8. But Politekhnik won third quarter 21-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Center Oleksandr Kushnirov (210-92) notched a double-double by scoring 15 points and 15 rebounds to lead the effort and swingman Denis Ivanov (195-78) supported him with 16 points. Four Mykolaiv players scored in double figures. Mykolaiv's coach Vladimir Polyakh allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even 18 points and 8 rebounds by power forward Anton Rochnyak (205-91) did not help to save the game for Politekhnik. Guard Roman Kozlov (190-90) added 15 points and 6 assists for the hosts. Mykolaiv moved-up to third place. Politekhnik lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with 11 games lost. Mykolaiv's next round opponent will be bottom-ranked Zaporizhye (#8) in Zaporozhye where they are favorite. Politekhnik will play at home against the league's leader Dnipro and hope to win that game.
