Very important is a road loss of third ranked Weiterstadt (6-4) against seventh ranked Keltern II (5-5) on Sunday night. Visiting Weiterstadt was defeated by Keltern II in Keltern 83-68. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Weiterstadt. Keltern II dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Weiterstadt's 24. Keltern II forced 21 Weiterstadt turnovers. American power forward Schaquilla Nunn (190-94, college: Tennessee, agency: LBM Management) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds. Leonie Elbert (169-96) contributed with 20 points for the winners. Keltern II's coach used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Christina Krick (169) answered with 17 points (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) and Canadian power forward Kaylee Kilpatrick (193-93, college: New Hampshire) added 14 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Weiterstadt. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Keltern II moved-up to fifth place in South, which they share with Rhein MB and Krofdorf/Gleib. Weiterstadt at the other side keeps the third position with four games lost. They share it with Jahn Muenchen. Keltern II will play against higher ranked Jahn Muenchen (#4) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Weiterstadt will play against Don Bosco Bamberg and hopes to get back on the winning track.
