Ninth-ranked Kirchheim Knights (6-7) made lots of trouble for second ranked SC Rasta Vechta (11-1) on Sunday. The visitors from Vechta managed to secure only one-point victory 80-79. However their fans expected much easier game. SC Rasta Vechta made 16-of-18 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. American guard Chris Carter (195-92, college: Florida Tech, agency: Interperformances) fired 20 points and 9 assists (made all of his nine free throws !!!) for the winners. Forward Robin Christen (203-91) chipped in 21 points and 5 rebounds. SC Rasta Vechta's coach Douglas Spradley used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Forward Tim Koch (196-89) produced 16 points and 8 rebounds and American guard Corban Collins (190-94, college: Alabama) added 14 points and 8 assists respectively for lost side. Four Kirchheim Knights players scored in double figures. SC Rasta Vechta have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain second place with 11-1 record behind leader Crailsheim. Kirchheim Knights at the other side dropped to the eighth position with seven games lost. They share it with Hanau. SC Rasta Vechta are looking forward to face Koeln Rh.Stars (#3) at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Kirchheim Knights will play against Karlsruhe PS (#4) and are hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
