Another exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Sofia: Lukoil Acad. (#2) and Levski 2014 (#5). Levski 2014 was defeated at home 78-84 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. Levski 2014 was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Lukoil Acad. looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international guard Bozhidar Avramov (196-90) who scored 19 points and 5 assists. International Dimitar Dimitrov (203-93, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 13 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Lukoil Acad.'s coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international guard Stanimir Marinov (192-91, agency: Interperformances) who recorded 21 points and 7 assists and international forward Aleks Simeonov (200-93) added 13 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Lukoil Acad.. Defending champion (6-1) keeps a position of league leader. Levski 2014 at the other side keeps the fifth place with four games lost. Lukoil Acad. will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Levski 2014 will play against Cherno More (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
