Dameligaen top team - Horsholm (11-0) had no problems winning another game on Wednesday. This time they crushed fifth ranked Vaerlose (2-8) 61-28. The game without a history. Horsholm led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Vaerlose to just 6 points in first and third quarters and to 13 points in second half. Horsholm held Vaerlose to an opponent 17.7 percent shooting from the field compared to 36.2 percent accuracy of the winners. Horsholm forced 25 Vaerlose turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American forward Maryah Sydnor (185-93, college: Appalachian St.) notched a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds to lead the effort and Icelandic forward Sandra-Lind Thrastardottir (182-96) supported her with 12 points and 12 rebounds. Even 6 points and 11 rebounds by American center Paige Cashin (193-95, college: S.Florida) did not help to save the game for Vaerlose. Forward Emilie Janner (-99) added 4 points and 8 rebounds for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Horsholm have an impressive 11-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 11-0 record. Newly promoted Vaerlose keeps the fifth place with eight games lost. Horsholm will meet Stevnsgade (#4) on the road in the next round. Vaerlose will play against the league's second-placed Virum and hope to secure a win.
