Regular Season Round 11: Portoroz - Medvode 85-64
Date: December 13, 2017
Bottom-ranked Portoroz managed to get the second consecutive victory. This time they outleveled eighth-ranked Medvode 85-64. It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 21-point difference suggests that Portoroz is in a good shape to leave the bottom place. And what about a second win in a row after ...six consecutive losses. Medvode was ahead by 2 points at the halftime before a 53-30 second half run of Portoroz. They outrebounded Medvode 43-32 including 31 on the defensive glass. It was an exceptional evening for guard Luka Rozanc (190-97) who led the winners and scored 18 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Guard Enej Miklavcic (182-98) accounted for 13 points for the winning side. Guard Luka Novak (190-89) came up with 12 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and swingman Luka Snoj (200-90) added 9 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Medvode in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Portoroz (2-6) moved-up to tenth place. Medvode lost their fifth game in a row. Newly promoted team dropped to the ninth position with seven games lost. Portoroz will play against higher ranked Parklji (#4) in Bezigrad in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Medvode will play on the road against Sezana (#3) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
