Very important is a road loss of third ranked Ginasio (6-4) against sixth ranked Estoril Basket (4-6) on Saturday night. Visiting Ginasio was defeated by Estoril Basket in a tough game in Estoril 74-79. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Ginasio. It was a great shooting night for Estoril Basket especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 56.3 percentage. Rui Nery (195-96) notched 17 points and 6 rebounds to lead the effort and forward Tiago De-Carvalho (195-97) supported him with 15 points and 4 assists. Five Estoril Basket players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 27 points and 10 rebounds by the former international center Marco Goncalves (206-84) did not help to save the game for Ginasio. Point guard Pedro Marques (183-93) added 19 points and 5 assists for lost side. Estoril Basket maintains sixth position in South with 4-6 record. Loser Ginasio dropped to the second place with four games lost. They share the position with Belenenses CF. Estoril Basket will meet league's second-placed Belenenses CF in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Ginasio will play against Academica in Coimbra and hope to secure a win.
