Regular Season Round 13: Mustangs - Blackbirds 79-43

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Mistelbach. Third ranked Mustangs faced 4th placed Blackbirds. Host Mustangs (9-4) smashed guests from Jennersdorf (7-6) 79-43. Mustangs held Blackbirds to an opponent 23.7 percent shooting from the field compared to 41.7 percent accuracy of the winners. Mustangs forced 19 Blackbirds turnovers and outrebounded them 50-27 including a 18-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Blackbirds' players. Worth to mention a great performance of Czech center Ivo Prachar (210-82) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 10 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists. Czech forward Vladimir Sismilich (202-85) contributed with 20 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Four Mustangs players scored in double figures. Guard Matthias Klepeisz (190-89) answered with 14 points and forward Christoph Astl (187-88) added 5 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Blackbirds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Mustangs maintains third place with 9-4 record having four points less than leader Timberwolves. Newly promoted Blackbirds dropped to the seventh position with six games lost. Mustangs will play against Raiders (#6) in Villach in the next round. Blackbirds will play at home against Basket 2K and hope to get back on the winning track.
