Regular Season Round 12: Osnabruecker TB - BG 89 Avides 54-74

There was a minor upset when one of their biggest challengers Osnabruecker (6-5) was outscored at home by sixth ranked Rotenburg/Scheessel (6-5) 74-54 on Saturday. The game without a history. Rotenburg/Scheessel led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. It was a great shooting night for Rotenburg/Scheessel especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. It was a good game for American swingman Shaniqua Nilles (183-93, college: Gonzaga) who led her team to a victory with 26 points and 7 rebounds. The former international guard Pia Mankertz (170-90) contributed with 21 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. American guard NDea Bryant (183-94, college: N.Carolina) replied with 15 points and 7 rebounds and her fellow American import forward Xylina McDaniel (188, college: N.Carolina) added 11 points and 13 rebounds in the effort for Osnabruecker. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Rotenburg/Scheessel moved-up to fourth place in North, which they share with Osnabruecker TB. Rotenburg/Scheessel will face Braunschweig (#9) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Osnabruecker's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Osnabrueck to the arena Osnabrueck SC.
