Regular Season Round 13: Goettingen - Telekom Bsk 65-91

Not a big story in a game when 15th ranked BG Goettingen (4-9) was rolled over at home by seventh ranked Telekom Baskets (8-5) 91-65 on Saturday. Telekom Baskets made 26-of-27 free shots (96.3 percent) during the game. Telekom Baskets had a 25-13 advantage in offensive rebounds. Croatian power forward Tomislav Zubcic (208-90) stepped up and scored 19 points and 5 rebounds (made all of his nine free throws !!!) for the winners and naturalized Cuban swingman Yorman-Polas Bartolo (192-85) chipped in 12 points. At the losing side American point guard Michael Stockton (185-89, college: Westminster, UT) responded with 9 points and 7 assists and the other American import power forward Harper Kamp (203-88, college: California) scored 12 points and 5 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Telekom Baskets moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Ratiopharm and Brose Bask. BG Goettingen lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the fifteenth position with nine games lost. Telekom Baskets will face Eisbaeren Bremerhaven (#16) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. BG Goettingen will play against Brose Baskets in Bamberg and hope to win that game.
