Leader Zalgiris delivered the thirteenth victory on Saturday night. This time they crushed 9th ranked Vytautas (4-11) 89-70 in Prienai. Zalgiris dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Vytautas' 32. They outrebounded Vytautas 42-27 including 30 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a quality performance of international power forward Gytis Masiulis (206-98) who helped to win the game recording 13 points and 8 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) and French swingman Axel Toupane (197-92, agency: BeoBasket) who added 12 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Zalgiris' coach Sarunas Jasikevicius used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was international swingman Edvinas Seskus (196-95, agency: Players Group) with 19 points and 6 rebounds and power forward Regimantas Miniotas (206-96) scored 15 points and 8 rebounds. Four Vytautas players scored in double figures. Defending champion maintains first position with 13-2 record. Loser Vytautas dropped to the eighth place with 11 games lost. They share the position with Siauliai. Zalgiris will meet at home Dzukija (#6) in the next round where they are favorite. Vytautas will have a break next round.
