Very predictable result when fourth ranked Hertener Loewen (11-4) won against at home 11th ranked Kamp-Lintfort (3-12) 75-62 on Saturday. Hertener Loewen held Kamp-Lintfort to an opponent 24.0 percent shooting from the field compared to 43.7 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded Kamp-Lintfort 50-38 including a 35-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. British guard Jordan Whelan (193-94, college: MidAmerica Naz.) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds. American power forward Dijon Smith (203-89, college: Ft.Hays State) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Hertener Loewen's coach Cedric Huesken used entire bench and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Center Lennart Boner (206) replied with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 20 rebounds and forward Till Achtermeier (197-88) added 16 points in the effort for Kamp-Lintfort. Hertener Loewen have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place in West, which they share with Duesseldorf. Kamp-Lintfort lost seventh consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the tenth position with 12 games lost. Hertener Loewen will face Dorsten (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Kamp-Lintfort will play against the league's leader Grevenbroich and hope to win that game.
