Regular Season Round 14: Duesseldorf - Dorsten 61-58
Date: December 16, 2017
Very expected game when 10th ranked Dorsten (3-12) was edged on the road by third ranked Duesseldorf (11-4) 61-58 on Saturday. However just three-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Duesseldorf forced 20 Dorsten turnovers. American point guard Deshaun Cooper (173-91, college: NW Missouri St.) orchestrated the victory by scoring 15 points, 6 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals. Lithuanian forward Dainius Zvinklys (203-90) contributed with 13 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Naturalized Albanian point guard Nderim Pelaj (182-88) replied with 26 points and center Gerrit Budde (203-89) added 8 points and 15 rebounds in the effort for Dorsten. Duesseldorf have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain third position in West with 11-4 record having just three points less than leader Grevenbroich, which they share with Hertener Loewen. Dorsten lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the tenth place with 12 games lost. Duesseldorf will have a break next round. Dorsten will play at home against Hertener Loewen (#4) and hope to win that game.
