Regular Season Round 9: Levski - Montana 36-77

Leader Montana 2003 delivered the seventh victory on Saturday night. This time they crushed 5th ranked Levski (2-7) 77-36 in Sofia. Montana 2003 held Levski to an opponent 21.2 percent shooting from the field compared to 48.5 percent accuracy of the winners. Montana 2003 forced 23 Levski turnovers and outrebounded them 48-36 including a 38-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 4 passes made by Levski's players. The best player for the winners was swingman Debora Filipova (173-97) who scored 25 points. Swingman Joana Mladenova (175-1) chipped in 10 points and 6 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was power forward Emilia Teneva (182-1) who recorded 9 points and 7 rebounds and forward Viktoria Koycheva (178-0) added 6 points and 10 rebounds respectively. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. The victory was the third consecutive win for Montana 2003. They maintain first place in West with 7-1 record. Levski lost their third game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the fifth position with seven games lost. Montana 2003 will face Septemvri 97 (#6) in Sofia in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Levski's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Sofia NSA.
