Regular Season Round 12: Marburg - Hannover 77-74

Important game to mention about took place in Marburg. Seventh ranked BC Pharmaserv Marburg (7-5) saved a 3-point victory at home edging 5th ranked Hannover (6-6) 77-74 on Saturday evening. The hosts were already 12 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 26-17 Hannover's run in the last quarter cut the lead to 77-74 at the end of the game. It was a good game for the former international power forward Svenja Greunke (188-89) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 10 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists. American guard Katlyn Yohn (181-91, college: Bradley) contributed with 19 points for the winners. Four BC Pharmaserv Marburg players scored in double figures. American Melissa Jeltema (175-88, college: Oakland) replied with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 10 rebounds and the former international Birte Thimm (180-87) added 11 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Hannover. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. BC Pharmaserv Marburg moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Donau-Ries and Herner. Hannover at the other side dropped to the seventh position with six games lost. BC Pharmaserv Marburg will play against league's second-placed Gruner Stern Keltern on the road in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Hannover will play against ChemCats Chemnitz (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
