The most shocking disappointment of round 9 in the Liga Nationala was a home defeat of second-best Phoenix Galati (6-3) to third ranked BC Timisoara (7-2) 83-73. It ended the two-game winning streak of Phoenix Galati. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The game was mostly controlled by BC Timisoara. Phoenix Galati managed to win fourth quarter 23-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening.
