No shocking result in a game in Mersin where eighth ranked Cukurova (5-5) defeated 11th ranked Ormanspor (2-7) 88-84. Cukurova players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists. American forward Erlana Larkins (185-86, college: N.Carolina) notched a double-double by scoring 17 points, 14 rebounds and 6 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and the other American import guard Diamond Deshields (185-95, college: Tennessee, agency: LBM Management) supported her with 26 points and 7 rebounds. Five Cukurova players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 20 points and 12 rebounds by naturalized American forward Michelle Campbell (188-84, college: Rutgers) did not help to save the game for Ormanspor. Point guard Serife Onar (167-96) added 21 points and 5 assists for lost side. Cukurova moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Galatasaray. Ormanspor lost fifth consecutive game. Ormanspor at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the eleventh position with seven games lost. Cukurova's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Mersin to the arena Mersin BSB.
