There was no surprise in Adana where 9th ranked Mersin BSB (4-6) was defeated by seventh ranked Botas (6-4) 87-80. Botas had a 40-24 advantage in offensive rebounds. The game was dominated by American players. Guard Chelsea Gray (180-92, college: Duke) notched 24 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals to lead the effort and center Kiah Stokes (190-93, college: Connecticut) supported her with 14 points and 20 rebounds. Four Botas players scored in double figures. Botas' coach Aydin Uguz allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even 32 points and 5 rebounds by guard Bria Hartley (173-92, college: Connecticut) did not help to save the game for Mersin BSB. Center Krystal Thomas (195-89, college: Duke) added 13 points and 10 rebounds for lost side. Botas have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Besiktas. Mersin BSB lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with six games lost. Botas' next round opponent will be bottom-ranked Bornova (#14) on the road and are hoping to win another game. Mersin BSB's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Mersin Cukurova.
