We should mention about the upset which took place in Giessen, where higher ranked Deutsche Bank Skyliners (9-5) were outleveled in a road game by tenth ranked Giessen 46ers (7-7) 83-59. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Deutsche Bank Skyliners. They outrebounded Deutsche Bank Skyliners 43-29 including a 35-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. American center John Bryant (210-87, college: Santa Clara) notched a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds to lead the effort and Canadian guard Jahenns Manigat (186-91, college: Creighton, agency: KMG Sports Management) supported him with 17 points and 5 assists. Even 13 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists by New Zealand guard Tai-Jack Webster (193-95, college: Nebraska) did not help to save the game for Deutsche Bank Skyliners. American forward Mike Morrison (206-89, college: George Mason, agency: Interperformances) added 15 points and 5 rebounds for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Giessen 46ers maintains tenth position with 7-7 record, which they share with Wuerzburg. Deutsche Bank Skyliners at the other side keep the fourth place with five games lost. Giessen 46ers' next round opponent will be BG Goettingen (#15) on the road where they are favorite. Deutsche Bank Skyliners will play against Walter Tigers (#18) and hope to win that game.
