Regular Season Round 13: Celje - Konjice 89-85

No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked Celje (6-6) beat at home bottom-ranked Konjice (2-9) 89-85 on Saturday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts trailed by 9 points at the halftime before their 45-32 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Celje made 21-of-25 free shots (84.0 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Konjice was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a very good performance for point guard Tadej Kostomaj (187-87) who helped to win the game recording 30 points, 5 rebounds, 8 assists and 5 steals. Forward Matic Grusovnik (198-95) contributed with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Four Celje players scored in double figures. Guard Niko Bacvic (180-97) answered with 34 points (!!!) and 4 assists and forward Gasper Sevsek (198-93) added 20 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists (perfect behind the arc making all five shots) in the effort for Konjice. Celje moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Triglav. Konjice lost their sixth game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with nine games lost. Celje will face league's leader Terme Olimia in Podcetrtek in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Konjice will play at home against Triglav (#5) and hope to win that game.
