A very interesting game took place in Yalova. It ended with only three-point defeat on the road of higher ranked Mersin Uni (7-7) to seventeenth ranked Yalova Vip (2-11) 69-66 on Saturday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the guest team. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Mersin Uni. The best player for the winners was American forward Corinne Costa (193-92, college: UCLA) who had a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds. Point guard Tugba Gonen (170-90, agency: 1andBox Sports Agency) chipped in 12 points and 6 rebounds. Four Yalova Vip players scored in double figures. Yalova Vip's coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Manolya Kurtulmus (187-98, agency: LBM Management) produced 25 points and 5 rebounds and the former international forward Nazli Guler (184-82, agency: 1x1 Sports) added 14 points and 11 rebounds respectively for the guests. Yalova Vip moved-up to sixteenth place, which they share with Ferko Ilgaz. Mersin Uni at the other side keeps the tenth position with seven games lost. Yalova Vip's next round opponent will be league's leader Bodrum on the road and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
