Regular Season Round 11: Dnipro-2 - Zolotoi Vek 72-74

Important game to mention about took place in Dnepropetrovsk. Second ranked Zolotoi Vek (8-3) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging 6th ranked Dnipro-2 (4-7) 74-72 on Saturday evening. Dnipro-2 was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. Zolotoi Vek players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. They brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. It was an exceptional evening for forward Olexandr Drobiazko (200-93) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 12 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Point guard Bogdan Sosoi (181-92) accounted for 11 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side. Guard Yusuf Sanon (190-99) came up with 25 points and 5 rebounds and forward Roman Bondarchuk (196-98) added 10 points and 10 rebounds respectively for Dnipro-2 in the defeat. Dnipro-2's coach Dmytro Markov tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Zolotoi Vek have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain second place with 8-3 record having five points less than leader Dinamo. Dnipro-2 lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with seven games lost. Zolotoi Vek will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Dnipro-2 will play again at home against the league's second-placed Zolotoi Vek (#2) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
