Regular Season Round 11: Politekhn.Lvov - KPZO DYUSH 76-51

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Lviv where bottom-ranked KPZO DYUSH (0-8) was crushed by seventh ranked Politekhn.Lvov (1-8) 76-51 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Politekhn.Lvov. KPZO DYUSH was better in fourth quarter 23-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Politekhn.Lvov forced 21 KPZO DYUSH turnovers. It was a great evening for guard Andriy Gutsaliuk (192-96) who led his team to a victory scoring 23 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Center Sergiy Kuzmenko (205-95) helped adding 12 points and 13 rebounds. Four Politekhn.Lvov players scored in double figures. Swingman Dmitro Melnishenko (195-92) responded with 10 points and 5 rebounds and center Pavlo Riazantsev (202-95) scored 8 points and 7 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Politekhn.Lvov left bottom position moving up to sixth place. It was KPZO DYUSH's eighth loss in a row. They still close the standings with eight games lost. Politekhn.Lvov will face again KPZO DYUSH (#7) in Dnepropetrovsk in the next round.
