Regular Season Round 15: Crailsheim - Phoenix Hagen 76-72

ProA top team - Crailsheim Merlins (14-1) added another victory to their record on Saturday. This time they beat seventh ranked Phoenix Hagen (8-6) 76-72. Strangely Phoenix Hagen outrebounded Crailsheim Merlins 45-31 including a 36-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for American point guard Frank Turner (178-88, college: Canisius, agency: Inception Sports) who led his team to a victory scoring 29 points and 4 steals. His fellow American import guard Chase Griffin (190-83, college: Pepperdine) helped adding 13 points and 5 assists. Four Crailsheim Merlins players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was swingman Jonas Grof (201-96, college: High School) with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists and American center Alex Herrera (206-92, college: Fort Lewis, agency: Two Points) scored 19 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Crailsheim Merlins have an impressive series of twelve victories in a row. They maintain first place with 14-1 record. Phoenix Hagen at the other side keeps the seventh position with six games lost. Crailsheim Merlins are looking forward to face Gladiators (#9) in Trier in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Phoenix Hagen will play at home against Hamburg and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
