Regular Season Round 13: Nevezis - Juventus 74-78

No shocking result in a game when seventh ranked Juventus (6-10) beat bottom-ranked Nevezis (4-13) in Kedainiai 78-74 on Saturday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Nevezis won third quarter 18-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Juventus made 16-of-18 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Forward Arvydas Siksnius (196-87, college: Weatherford JC) nailed 13 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists for the winning side and Ukrainian power forward Maxym Korniyenko (205-87) accounted for 12 points and 6 rebounds. Russian forward Valery Likhodey (205-86, agency: Alti Sport) came up with 17 points and 5 rebounds and American guard James Woodard (191-94, college: Tulsa) added 9 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for Nevezis in the defeat. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Juventus moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Dzukija. Loser Nevezis stay at the bottom position with 13 games lost. Juventus will meet at home league's leader Zalgiris in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Nevezis will play against Siauliai (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
