There was an upset when higher ranked Istanbul BBSK (6-6) lost on the road to fifteenth ranked Gaziantep (3-9) 85-72 on Saturday. It was a good game for American point guard Mark Lyons (185-89, college: Arizona, agency: Higher Vision Sports) who led his team to a victory with 25 points and 7 assists. The other American import Sean Armand (196-91, college: Iona) contributed with 15 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. American center Eric Buckner (208-90, college: Georgia St., agency: David Lee Services) replied with 24 points and 8 rebounds and Slovenian Jaka Klobucar (198-87) added 9 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for Istanbul BBSK. Four Istanbul BBSK players scored in double figures. Gaziantep moved-up to fourteenth place, which they share with Trabzonspor. Loser Istanbul BBSK keeps the eighth position with six games lost. Gaziantep will face higher ranked Banvit (#9) in Balikesir in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
