Regular Season Round 15: Braunschweig - Bayreuth 75-100

Very predictable result when fourth ranked BBC Bayreuth (10-5) rolled over on the road 12th ranked Braunschweig (6-9) 100-75. BBC Bayreuth shot 61.7 percent from the field. They also forced 24 Braunschweig turnovers. It was a great shooting night for BBC Bayreuth especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 56.3 percentage. Braunschweig was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for American guard Gabe York (190-93, college: Arizona) who led his team to a victory scoring 32 points and 5 rebounds. Egyptian forward Assem Marei (206-92, college: Minn.St.-Mankato) helped adding 20 points and 9 rebounds. Five BBC Bayreuth players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American guard DeAndre Lansdowne (187-89, college: Fort Lewis) with 23 points and the other American import power forward Scott Eatherton (203-91, college: Northeastern, agency: BeoBasket) scored 12 points and 6 rebounds. Braunschweig's coach Frank Menz gave up on the game allowing to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. BBC Bayreuth maintains fourth place with 10-5 record, which they share with Fraport SKY. Braunschweig at the other side dropped to the thirteenth position with nine games lost. BBC Bayreuth will play against Brose Baskets (#6) in Bamberg in the next round. Braunschweig will play on the road against the league's second-placed ALBA Berlin (#2) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
